Reading with the Monarchs

We had a great treat at school this afternoon--a visit from a few members of the Manchester Monarch's!

Josh Brown (#3) and Darik Angeli (#10) came to visit a few first grade classroom and read the book “The Bulliest Dozer” as part of the Monarchs Against Bullying program.

After the book, we learned that the Monarch's practice for an hour and a half a day, and went to school beyond high school (one player was from Canada--they have a different system of schooling!) and had to keep learning before becoming professional hockey players.

What a great treat to learn about their job and to talk about why we shouldn't be bullies.
