Kind Comment Hearts
The students had a blast today sharing their kind comments for each other and putting everything together in an amazing collage. No two hearts came out the same and their creativity shone through with the way they arranged comments, placed stickers and added glitter glue. A few with glitter glue are still drying in the classroom and will come home tomorrow!
Candy Heart Graphing
For math today the students used a box of candy hearts to practice and important math skills. They needed to sort their hearts to establish categories, organize their data and record it on the graph, and then made observations about the graph. We discovered that within the room there were more pink hearts then any other color, but white and green were hard to come by.

100th day centers
Today rather than doing Walk to Read, the students worked at 100 day centers in the classroom. The built words with the letters in 'hundred days', played Roll for 100, worked to rebuild a hundred chart, and created a portrait of what they would look like if they were 100 years old. Here is a peak at our centers:
Math on 100th day
In math today we discover there are many ways to group 100. After the students shared how they grouped their 100 objects from home we worked in groups and looked for other ways to group 100 objects. We discovered that the different groups are similar to our fact families.
This week we have been working on addition and subtraction stories, or word problems. The 100th day of school seemed like a great reason to write stories using the number 100:
