Reindeer Games

Today the first grade students had lots of fun playing 'Reindeer Games.' The students traveled around the classrooms in our wing and had a great time.

The students also made reindeer food and loved a treat of hot cocoa to end our fun filled morning! Thank you all for the donations to make that treat possible!

As Hannukah begins and we learn about this winter holiday the students had fun learning the dreidel game.

December Theme Days in First Grade

Wear blue and white as we read and learn about
Hannukah traditions.

Wednesday December 17th - Snowman Day
Wear something that is white or has a snowman
on it.

Thursday December 18th - Welcome Christmas!
Wear red and green to spread holiday cheer.

Friday December 19th - Grinch Day
Wear as much green as you can, try out some WHO-inspired hairdos, or wear
antlers like the Grinch’s dog, Max. Be as creative as you would like!


Monday December 22nd - Reindeer Day

Fall Festival

Make a Sum

Today the students learned how to play a game called Make the Sum. It is a memory style game that you can play at home using a deck of cards with the face cards removed. Check the Math Games tab at the top of the page for directions and a video!

Artist in Residence

We recently had an artist in residence come to help students plan an 'outdoor habitat.' When she came to the classroom I saw how she got everyone thinking of ways this habitat could come to life. We cannot wait for the spring when all of our ideas will come together outside!
