Oh the weather outside is frightful...
Well, not as frightful as December weather can be! But it was too wet to play outside at recess. We had a wide variety of activities to choose from in the classroom....

Thanksgiving makings and creations!
Today the students had a fun filled afternoon getting ready for Thanksgiving at school. They got a chance to visit other classrooms and complete a different activity at each stop. First, they made bracelets with Mrs. Lyscars. Each brad represents something different about Thanksgiving.
On the left is the butter, surrounded by buttermilk and on the right is what is left once the buttermilk is drained--a bit of delicious butter! That will certainly be yummy on our muffins tomorrow!
Then they headed to Miss Rowley's room to make cornbread muffins. I didn't catch pictures of those but I will snap a picture tomorrow when we enjoy them at a smallThanksgiving feast!
After a break for snack, I made butter with the class. Everyone had a small container of heavy cream and we danced and shook our containers until we made butter! It was pretty magical.
For the last stop everyone went to see Mrs. Field and made a nice fat turkey for Thanksgiving. Those are coming home today!

Fun Fall Festival
What a FANTASTICALLY FUN Fall Festival we had today!!! Many thanks to the PTA and all the volunteers that made it possible and helped it to go off without a hitch!
Mrs. Scarpacci had us singing and dancing and we had a blast--going on a Leaf Hunt, doing the Monster Mash and more!
Then we headed outside for some great activities with Mrs. Jenkins. First the ring toss, only we were ringing pumpkins!
Then, a relay race--Pass the Scarecrow!
The cheering sections was the best--the class was rooting for everyone!
Our last outdoor activity was the Pass the Apple. They passed those 'apples' so fast I barely caught a couple pictures! For our Fall Festival activity we headed to the MPR to create a mural, under Mrs. White's guidance.
Before, it looked like this:

You can check out our beautiful mural hanging outside of our classroom when I see everyone for conferences on Tuesday. Happy Halloween!
